Docket dumpster software cost: pricing, fees and plans
How much does Docket dumpster software cost?
Docket does not publish its base subscription price. Its pricing page shows three plans—Grow, Pro and Pro Plus—but directs buyers to a personalized demo for the actual software price. The page does publish payment-processing rates, included monthly text messages and the features available in each tier.
This means a reliable Docket dumpster software cost cannot be calculated from public information alone. Any third-party dollar figure should be treated as an estimate unless it matches a written quote from Docket for your truck count, services and add-ons.
Public plan differences
| Plan | Published payment rates | Messages included | Main public distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grow | Cards: 3.0% + 30¢; ACH: 1% | 500/month | Core customer management, dispatch, driver app, billing, basic website/cart and QuickBooks Online. |
| Pro | Cards: 2.8% + 30¢; ACH: 1% | 1,000/month | Adds the premium cart, local SEO, Mailchimp, Samsara, Verizon Connect, Dumpsters.com and Review Guard listings on the plan page. |
| Pro Plus | Cards: 2.8% + 30¢; ACH: 1% | 1,000/month | Adds IronRouteAI route creation to the Pro feature set. |
These are vendor-published plan details, not a full quote. Confirm whether payment processing, messaging overages, the website, onboarding and each integration create separate charges.
What affects the real cost
- Plan: Grow, Pro or Pro Plus determines the published feature bundle.
- Operation: Docket supports roll-off, junk removal and recurring commercial or residential routes, so mixed-service requirements can change the implementation.
- Pricing setup: simple operations can use billing templates; complex rates can require an uploaded pricing matrix.
- Payment volume: the 0.2 percentage-point card-rate difference between Grow and the higher tiers matters more as card volume increases.
- Add-ons and limits: ask about extra messages, integrations, routing, website work, data migration and training.
Why setup belongs in the cost calculation
Docket's support documentation says billing templates suit rates based mainly on dumpster size and rental length. A pricing matrix can add location, distance, customer type, material, task type, weight allowances, delivery fees and fuel surcharges. The same documentation warns that changing pricing methods after going live may require rebuilding the setup.
For a small operator, implementation time can therefore matter as much as the monthly invoice. Build one representative order—from quote through delivery, exchange, weight ticket, pickup and final invoice—before approving the configuration.
Build a first-year cost comparison from written quotes
Ask Docket and each alternative to price the same operation: number of trucks and office users, monthly rentals, card and ACH volume, messages, service types, website needs and integrations. Put every answer in one currency and one 12-month period. Do not treat the published processing rate as the software subscription.
| Cost line | Input to request or measure | First-year calculation |
|---|---|---|
| Software | Written recurring fee, billing frequency, included users and trucks | 12 × monthly equivalent, adjusted for the actual contract term |
| Setup | Onboarding, pricing configuration, migration, training and website work | Sum of one-time charges in the quote |
| Payments | Your expected card/ACH volume and transaction count; the plan's confirmed rates | Apply the quoted percentage and per-transaction fee to your own transaction mix |
| Usage and add-ons | Messages above the included allowance, integrations, routing and other optional services | 12 × expected monthly overages and add-ons, plus any one-time fee |
| Switching and exit | Your team's migration hours, data export, cancellation and renewal terms | Record separately from vendor charges; include only costs you can substantiate |
Comparison rule: first-year vendor cost = software + setup + payments + usage/add-ons. Show switching effort separately so a quote does not appear cheaper merely because migration work is omitted. Ask whether taxes, refunds, chargebacks or any minimum processing fee change the quoted total.
On the current public Docket plan page, Grow's card percentage is 0.2 percentage points higher than Pro and Pro Plus, while the 30¢ fixed card fee is the same. The percentage-only difference is 0.002 × your annual card volume. That is not the saving from upgrading: the unknown subscription difference, extra features and any negotiated terms must be included before choosing a tier.
Questions to ask in the Docket demo
- What is the recurring software price for our actual number of trucks and office users?
- Is there an implementation, migration, training or website setup fee?
- Which features in the selected plan cost extra?
- What are the messaging overage rates after 500 or 1,000 messages?
- What is the contract length, renewal rule and cancellation process?
- Can we export customers, invoices, tasks, pricing rules and container history if we leave?
- Which fees appear on a real card and ACH payment at our expected monthly volume?
Request the answers and the complete total in writing. That is the only defensible figure to compare with another product's public monthly price.
